This 21 Hour California Public Safety First Aid (PSFA) course is intended for public safety personnel, including firefighters, lifeguards, peace officers, as well as students/trainees in these fields.

This is an advanced First Aid Course consisting of 21 hours of coursework with topics including:
  • emergency response;
  • scene and patient assessment;
  • emergency moves and recovery position;
  • emergency communication and multiple-rescuer response;
  • pro-rescuer CPR/AED;
  • bleeding control;
  • shock management;
  • wound care;
  • sudden illnesses and medical emergencies including breathing difficulty, diabetic emergencies, fainting, heart attack, seizures, and stroke;
  • musculoskeletal injury care and spinal motion restriction;
  • pregnancy and emergency childbirth;
  • care for poisoning and drug abuse;
  • environmental emergencies;
  • animal bites and stings;
  • extrication;
  • terrorist/active-shooter/CBRN incident and natural disaster response;
  • tactical-casualty care; and
  • triage/treatment/transport

This is a Public Safety First Aid course as described in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 9, Chapter 1.5.

First Aid/CPR/AED Refresher – CA POST 1179-21797, STC #06077355

This course updates and advances all prior first aid/CPR training. This course meets the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED Title 22, Section 100023 requirements established April 1, 2015.

Length and Cost: 8-hour (CPT) course raises the student’s emergency medical response standards up to the new EMSA Title 22 requirements which focus on the 2020 AHA CPR standards, Victim assessment, Basic LIfe support, "High Risk" medical emergencies, mass-casualty incidents and appropriate response.
All classes are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. POST-approved, Plan IV. Non- reimbursable fee of $175.

337x225px CPR training 05This course meets the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED Title 22, Section 100023, requirements, established April 1, 2015. This course provides current First Aid/CPR instructors with the required skills to instruct the EMSA First Aid/CPR/AED course.

Length and Cost: 8-hour course prepares graduates to teach the POST First Aid/CPR/AED Update course.
All classes are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. POST Reimbursement Plan IV; POST-approved, non-reimbursable fee: $226
